Berlinagenten is a dynamic global lifestyle tour agency. We made our name in Berlin showing newcomers the ins, outs and hidden alleys of Germany’s delightfully hedonistic capital. Started in 2004, Berlinagenten gained international recognition with the Gastro-Rallye, a feasting journey free of artificial preservatives and sauerkraut. No stodgy German meals or colourless excursions, and definitely nothing low-budget or basic here – we show the raw, sexy, hip and happening side of the restaurant scenes in our favourite cities across Europe. The Gastro-Rallye is tailored to the latest innovations, food trends and personal guest desires for truly unique experiences. Rest assured, Berlinagenten’s guides have their finger right on each urban pulse, and access to the hottest eateries in town!
Berlinagenten was founded by Henrik Tidefjärd, a native Swede who’s been living in Berlin since 2001. Named as one of the three most important guides you should know on the planet by Forbes, Henrik has made international headlines time and again for his exciting, unconventional take on lifestyle tours, like bringing American Pie starlet Tara Reid to the notorious KitKat Club. Since then, he’s hosted various celebrities and superstars, and Madonna entrusted him to show her daughter Lourdes around Berlin in 2012. In 2016, he even went undercover with Adele, exploring the city while successfully avoiding paparazzi flashes!
How does the booking procedure work?
1. Fill out the request form and send it back to us no later than 72 hours before the tour date (sometimes we can accommodate late requests, but it’s tricky)
2. You will receive an answer within 24 hours if your private tour is available
3. If the tour is available and you accept the price, you confirm the tour through the payment link via email
4. As soon as you have completed the payment you will receive a voucher and an invoice directly by email. This is your official confirmation of the booked tour. Before receiving the invoice nothing is confirmed
5. We will contact you per email to arrange the details about your meeting point and local guide
How do I pay?
You will receive a payment link if the tour is available. We only accept Visa and Mastercard. For company tours and special cases, wire transfer can be arranged.
Who is my guide?
We work with local guides who are experts of their cities and love to entertain new guests. They are all hand-picked from different industries in order to give you a “go local” experience and a personal touch. Think of it as having a best friend with the hottest hookups in town. Being an insider, your guide will strive to plug you straight into whatever scene perks your interest.
What makes the tour concept so unique?
We don’t reveal tour destinations in advance, meaning you’re in for a ride full of surprises. Sit back, eat, drink and be merry. Leave all the decision-making to us. Wait, we lied – you must pick your preference of wine, beer or soft drink.
What kind of restaurants can I expect?
Our motto, “We are not sauerkraut,” promises that we will not take you to traditional rustic venue but plug you into the city’s contemporary and hip culinary scene. We keep up to date with new openings and cool concepts in order to give you a multifaceted food tour.
What kind of food can I expect?
”We are not Sauerkraut” means that we’re not a bland tour company providing stodgy local meals or low-quality food. We promise a variety of international tastes, new flavours and inspiring components. Our aim is to inspire your senses.
What criteria do you use to select a venue for the Gastro-Rallye?
Some examples: Innovation, modern preparations, quality of food, service orientation, hospitality, contemporary interior and inspiring design. We avoid Michelin star restaurants as they often are too pretentious and lack the kind buzz we live for. Stops can be anything between a quirky fast food haven and a gourmet temple.
What if I have allergies/dietary restrictions?
Please inform us when you book the tour. If you forget, no worries – please tell your local guide at the beginning of the tour and she/he will work out an alternative if needed.
What do I do if it is raining and I booked a walking tour?
The tour takes place in any weather, so be ready to rock it with an umbrella or raincoat!
Is it possible to implement a gastro-rallye experience for big groups?
We can implement a gastro-rallye up to 99 persons but depending on the capacity of restaurants we might have to split the big group into smaller sub groups for the main course, each group having a private guide of course. Please send your group request to info@gastro-rallye.com
